Hidden Springs Resort is a private resort located in the Rocky Mountains in Utah. This 7,500 sq. ft. resort has heated floors, featuring low-voltage Zmesh. Zmesh is a 12-inch wide bronze mesh similar to screen door material and comes in 50 to 350 foot rolls (in 50 ft. increments). Zmesh has revolutionized radiant floor heating systems. This unique radiant heat product can be stapled or even nailed through, and can be installed under any floor surface, including hardwood.

Heating Under Hardwood Floors Made Easy

Slip off your shoes and enjoy the heat of toasty warm hardwood floors. Whether you're building a new home, adding on to an existing home, or remodeling, the simplicity of our electric radiant heat systems makes them easy to install.

Zmesh is a floor heating product that can be installed directly underneath hardwood floors. Because these radiant heat systems are low voltage, the hardwood will not discolor or be damaged by excessive heat expansion and contraction. No glycol – which can cause hardwood to warp from moisture – is needed to install the Zmesh floor warming system.

Zmesh is a 12-inch wide bronze mesh that can be stapled to the subfloor. A continuous roll of Zmesh is rolled out over the area to be heated and folded over itself to make the turns. Placing a slip-sheet or rosin paper between the Zmesh and hardwood floor is recommended. The nails used to secure the hardwood to the subfloor can pierce the Zmesh without causing any damage to the Zmesh or the floor heating system. No floor buildup is necessary and no additional construction costs are incurred.

The radiant heat produced by these systems is like no other. All of the Zmesh installed underneath the flooring heats uniformly, unlike some radiant heat systems that are warmer near the heat source. Zmesh is a very unique product that can also be installed under carpet, tile and stone floors, and even under roofs to melt snow. Because the Zmesh system is low voltage, you can actually touch it when it is on without receiving a shock.
